Monarch Private Capital, a leading impact investment firm specializing in tax credit projects, and Invenergy, a global developer and operator of sustainable energy solutions, have secured nearly $170 million in tax equity financing for the Samson Solar Energy Center II in Lamar County, Texas. The 200-megawatt facility is part of the larger Samson Solar Energy Center, which will produce 1,310 megawatts and is the largest solar energy project in Texas. Expected to commence commercial operations later this year, Samson II will generate enough renewable energy to power over 40,000 homes, while the entire five-phase project aims to power approximately 300,000 homes. This initiative not only provides economic benefits to the local community, including construction jobs and significant tax contributions but also advances Texas’ leadership in clean energy. Marathon Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for the transaction.
