JPMorgan Chase has announced the appointment of Andrew Castaldo and Andrew Martin as co-heads of its mid-cap mergers and acquisitions (M&A) unit, according to an internal memo. Castaldo, who has been with the bank since 2014, was formerly the head of the energy M&A unit. Martin is set to join JPMorgan from Bank of America in 2024, bringing over 27 years of experience and having led BofA’s emerging growth M&A business. JPMorgan, which advised on over 200 middle-market transactions in 2023, anticipates strong dealmaking activity amid a broader industry recovery. The bank also reported a 50% surge in investment banking fees in the second quarter. Additionally, Ben Wilson has been named head of North America Energy, Power, Renewables & Mining M&A, succeeding Castaldo. Wilson joins from Guggenheim Securities where he was senior managing director.
