Elis, a global leader in circular services, has acquired 100% of Wonway Manufacturing SDN. BHD. in Malaysia, expanding its presence into the Asian market. Wonway, established in 1984, specializes in reusable garments for cleanrooms, serving international clients in the semi-conductor, medical device, and chemical industries. Wonway operates three specialized laundries in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Malacca, and employs around 200 people. In 2023, the company recorded revenues close to 29 million ringgits (~$5.9 million) with an EBIT margin of approximately 15%. The acquisition aims to bolster Elis’s network and operational capabilities while leveraging Wonway’s high profitability and the dynamic economic landscape of Malaysia. The deal will be consolidated from 1 July 2024.
