The TMForum DTW Ignite conference in Copenhagen has spotlighted an exciting strategic partnership between Dell and Ericsson. Announced on May 23, 2024, this collaboration aims to develop tailored network cloud infrastructure plans and advise communications service providers (CSPs) on their cloud transformation journeys. They will explore how service orchestration and assurance can reduce implementation and operational costs for CSPs through certified interoperability between Ericsson Service Orchestration and Assurance and Dell Telecom Infrastructure Automation Suite. As a response to the challenges identified in a Dell-sponsored study, the partnership will also implement Open RAN-based network cloud transformation strategies, focusing on simplicity, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. The goal is to enable CSPs to orchestrate and assure distributed cloud infrastructure, automate network slicing, optimize costs, and expose new business models.
